Whiskey Del Bac Frontera is a limited annual release from Whiskey Del Bac and part of the Whiskey Del Bac Global Cask Collection. This year’s release marks the second annual release. This American single malt has been aged in new American white oak, then finished an additional 13 months in Pedro Ximénez Sherry botas. It offers a unique and balanced tasting experience.
Nose
Raisin, dark fruits, black raspberry, and hot pepper spice are all evident in the nose.
Palate
The palate offers Luxardo cherries, raisin, plum, charred oak, light smoke, nutty base, and rich and savory flavors.
Finish
The finish is crisp and spicy, with white peppercorn spice, dark cherries, raisin, graham cracker, and dry leather.
Uniqueness
Frontera is a unique tasting and nicely balanced single malt in the American single malt category. It offers a deep complexity and authentic, rich experience. The flavors are not malt-forward as single malts can be, instead focusing more on the dark fruit flavors emerged by the finishing barrels.
