Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon Fall 2022 Edition: Review
Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon Fall 2022 Edition is the oldest release in the line to date, breaking new barriers of time spent in barrels. Now in its 10th national release, this whiskey is composed of barrels produced in September 2003 that were bottled in October 2022. How did it fare?
Nose
Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon Fall 2022 Edition has a nose of cherry chocolate bark, tobacco leaf, dry aged oak and aged cinnamon stick.
Palate
This whiskey has a creamy chocolate Silk Pie flavor with a hint of aged leather, aged dry oak, peppercorn spice, baked bread, aged vanilla bean and a nice combination of flavors.
Finish
The finish is dry oak, leather, mellow spiced heat and age shines through with a mouth-suckingly dry experience.
Overall
Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon Fall 2022 Edition isn’t the strongest showing from the series. Although adding two extra years of aging allowed the brand to explore how far whiskey can be aged, it may have been past the tipping point. Breaking new barriers of time spent in barrels, this whiskey is unique to experience. However, it’s worth noting that this might not be the best value
For money considering its price tag. Nonetheless, still a must-try for whiskey enthusiasts.
The Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon Fall 2022 Edition is a remarkable whiskey with complex flavors and a unique aging process. However, it may not be the strongest release in the series and the price may not match the quality for some. Overall, a must-try for whiskey lovers looking for something new and different.
For the price.
As an avid whiskey enthusiast, I have to say that this review captures the essence of Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon Fall 2022 Edition perfectly. The added aging has definitely made the flavors more complex and unique, but it might not be worth the higher price point. Overall, a solid addition to the series, but not the standout release.
