Blue Note Crossroads

Blue Note Bourbon is no stranger to pushing quality bourbon. Their latest release, Blue Note Crossroads, is no exception. The bourbon is finished in French oak and toasted French oak barrels from the esteemed Tonnellerie Radoux. The resulting product produces an extra dimension that is often absent with many French oak finished bourbons. Let’s take a closer look.

Nose

The nose on Blue Note Crossroads is quite subtle and refined. Scent’s of red currants, cranberry, and fresh oak are present along with notes of leafy greens.

Palate

On the palate, the bourbon brings forth easily recognizable flavors. These include raisin, plum, prune, toast, marshmallow, and vanilla.

Finish

The finish is striking and long lasting. It has all the flavor of French oak with a bit of my leather, molasses, milk chocolate, and baking spice.

Uniqueness and Value

The unique combination of toasted French oak and French oak gives this bourbon an edge. The smooth delivery of flavors puts it a step above the rest. Value wise, it is right in line with other premium bourbons in the market.

Overall

Overall, Blue Note Crossroads is a distinct, flavorful, and enjoyable bourbon. Toasting their French oak barrels helps add an extra dimension which is often absent with many French oak finished bourbons. If you have the chance to try a bottle, I highly recommend it
