Keeper’s Heart Irish + American Whiskey Review

Keeper’s Heart Irish + American Whiskey was created by cousins Patrick and Michael O’Shaughnessy, alongside Michael’s father Gerry, at their O’Shaughnessy Distillery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They were soon joined by master distiller Brian Nation, who’s an expert at crafting Irish whiskey for labels such as Jameson, Redbreast, Midleton Very Rare, Spot, and Powers Irish Whiskey.

Nose

The flavor of Keeper’s Heart is light and approachable, as you’d expect for Irish whiskey, but with a few surprises thanks to the American whiskey component. On the nose you’ll find florals, grassy notes, light spice, fresh grain, and light.

Palate

On the palate you’ll find even more of the Irish whiskey notes, along with a few that stand out from the American whiskey. Citrus, vanilla, ginger, baking spices, fresh cut grass, and summer fruits all come together for an interesting and balanced flavor.

Finish

The finish remains in line with the body, with baking spices, stewed fruit, caramel chews, and lingering spice.

Overall

Given its light and approachable flavor profile, Keeper’s Heart Irish + American Whiskey is a great option for anyone looking for something different. It’s not too intense, but still has some unique flavors that make it worth trying. The price is also incredibly reasonable, making it an excellent value for a whiskey of its caliber
