Westland Distillery 7 Year Single Malt
Established in 2010, Westland Distillery presented a single cask whiskey for the Lost Lantern Collection that was composed of five-mash bills of local barley. With a surprisingly subtle sip for the proof, let’s take a closer look!

Overall
Utilizing five types of local barley, this 7 year old Westland Distillery American single malt released by Lost Lantern presents a surprisingly subtle sip for the proof. Located in Seattle, Washington, the whisky offers caramel, cream, oak and malt flavors and heat that lingers on the palate after every sip.
While Lost Lantern has released several malts in past collections, this is the first time they have released a single cask from Westland Distillery. It doesn’t overpower the drinker with bold flavors, instead maintaining more neutral ground and challenging the drinker to pull flavors out from it. The whiskey is well composed and very approachable, though considering its age and proof, I was expecting more of a show of force from it.
