Mythology Thunder Hoof Rye Review

Nose

Caramel apple, golden raisin, butter and passion fruit on the sweet oak make for a great depth of scent and an exceptional aroma.

Palate

Sweet honeydew, hay, sage and light oak give the whiskey a surprisingly mellow flavor, resulting in tempered flavors.

Finish

A peppery and baking spice taste with a mild rye spice builds heat that leads to a dry and light mustyness in the finish.

Overall

Mythology Thunder Hoof Rye is a 10 year old rye whiskey that starts off and ends great, but its middle leaves a lot to be desired. Despite its shortcomings, its age and price make up for it in the end.
