Blue Run Spirits is a craft distillery based in London, England. Founded by David and Jill Robinson in 2018, Blue Run Spirits specializes in small-batch rye whiskies that capture the verdant flavor of the British countryside. The Creation of Blue Run’s Single Barrel Rye Whiskey
Blue Run’s single barrel rye whiskey has been carefully crafted to create a unique and expressive spirit. The whiskey begins with a mash bill of traditional rye and malted barley, which is then distilled in custom-made copper alembic stills. In order to create a unique flavor profile, the stills are charged with a combination of peat smoke and juniper, creating a flavorful and complex spirit.
Once distilled, the whiskey is matured in American oak barrels for 18 months. During this time, the whiskey develops an intense and robust flavor profile, with notes of oak, spice, and fruit.
Tasting Notes
This single barrel rye whiskey offers a full-bodied experience with notes of clove, caramel, and vanilla. The earthy and spicy character of the peat smoke is balanced by sweet oak aromas. The finish is long and lingering, with hints of leather and tobacco.
Availability
Blue Run’s single barrel rye whiskey is limited to just 250 bottles worldwide. Bottles of the whiskey will be available for purchase beginning in March 2021.
