Chattanooga Whiskey has been crafting Tennessee-style whiskey for nearly 11 years, and this spring, they’re celebrating their 11th anniversary in a special way. The distillery recently released the Founder’s 11th Anniversary blend, which is an ode to the past 11 years of their distillery’s success.
Behind The Blend
The whiskey is made up of Bourbons and Tennessees that have been aged in new American white oak barrels, charred to levels 3 and 4, and blends two distinct characteristics. The Bourbon component has been aged for 4 to 9+ years, providing a depth of flavor and a sweetness that comes from the barrels prior contents. The Tennessee whiskey component adds notes of smoky, earthy flavors that complement the sweet notes from the Bourbon. The blend is finished in sherry casks, which provides a nutty, slightly fruity note to the whiskey.
Combined, the blend creates a whiskey with a smooth flavor and a creamy, rich texture. It’s definitely something to celebrate, and the whiskey lives up to its namesake in more than one way.
