Buffalo Trace Distillery Celebrates Craft Spirits with the Old Charter Oak Series and Spanish Oak
The Buffalo Trace Distillery has long been known for pushing the boundaries of craft spirit production. Established in 1773, the Distillery has a long and proud history of producing some of the finest whisky in America, and the recent launch of the Old Charter Oak Series and Spanish Oak expressions is no exception.
The Old Charter Oak Series
The Old Charter Oak series is an innovative new range of craft whisky that celebrates the iconic Charter Oak trees. The stories behind the trees are passed down from generation to generation and are a source of pride for many in the area. The series takes its name from them, and it is also inspired by the barrels that some of the whisky is matured in.
Each expression of the series is named after a different city in the United States and showcases the flavor profile of that particular area. From New York City to Tallahassee, Florida, every expression offers a unique and delicious flavor experience. The series has been aged for at least 11 years in new American oak barrels and is bottled at 90 proof.
The Spanish Oak Expressions
The Spanish Oak expression is another innovative range of craft whisky released by the Buffalo Trace Distillery. This expression is aged for at least 10 years in Spanish oak barrels that previously held Oloroso sherry. As the whisky ages in the barrels, the whisky takes on hints of dried fruits and toast with a hint of spice and sweetness. It is also bottled at 90 proof.
