Making Old Fitzgerald
Though its recipe has remained largely unchanged over the past 120 years, Heaven Hill has made some refinements to the Old Fitzgerald process. The Spring 2023 Edition is made from a blend of hand selected grains and aged in new, #4 char virgin oak barrels for a minimum of four years.
In keeping with traditional whiskey-making methods, the whiskey is distilled in pot stills and cooled with fresh-moving limestone-filtered water. After four years of aging, the whiskey is then blended with spring water and bottled at the legal drinking age in the United States – 100 to 130 proof.
