New 2022 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection Revealed

2022 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection Announced – Finally, the Wait is Over

Good news for whiskey connoisseurs! After months of speculation, Buffalo Trace Distillery finally unveiled the lineup for the 2022 Antique Collection. This year’s release features six inspired whiskeys, many of which are sure to become collectible. Here’s a look at the impressive collection.

George T. Stagg

The granddaddy of them all – George T. Stagg – is always a special treat. This year’s pour is a 16-year-old bourbon aged in new charred oak barrels and bottled at a barrel proof of 127.6. It has an aroma of old leather and natural spices, and a flavor of dark cocoa and tobacco that’s balanced by restrained hints of sweetness.

William Larue Weller

William Larue Weller is just as robust as its predecessor, but the flavor profile is very different. This barrel-proof wheated bourbon was aged for 13 years in new charred barrels and bottled at 122.6 proof. Expect creamy notes of butterscotch, marshmallow and subtle spice, complemented by a long, sweet finish.

Thomas H. Handy Sazerac

Not to be outdone, Thomas H. Handy Sazerac is a rye whiskey that was aged for 14 years in new charred barrels and bottled at 125.9 proof. With strong notes of pepper and baking spices, it’s perfect for sipping neat or in a classic cocktail.

Eagle Rare 17-Year-Old

Those who prefer something a bit more subtle will love Eagle Rare 17-Year-Old. This whiskey was aged for 17 years in new charred barrels and bottled at 90 proof. It has a full, oaky aroma with hints of leather and tobacco, and a smooth flavor of caramel and dark fruits with a long, satisfying finish.

Sazerac 18-Year-Old

Sazerac 18-Year-Old takes things to the next level with its bold flavor profile. Aged for 18 years in new charred barrels, it’s bottled at a barrel proof of 116.2. Aromas of sweet toffee and baking spices lead to a palate of orange peel, clove and pepper, with a lingering finish of rich oak.

Sazerac Rye 18-Year-Old

Finally, the collection includes the Sazerac Rye 18-Year-Old, a rye whiskey aged for 18 years in new charred barrels and bottled at barrel proof of 115.2. This fiery concoction features bold notes of pepper, cinnamon and wood, as well as a sweet finish of orange and vanilla.

The 2022 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection is sure to please any whiskey aficionado. Don’t miss your chance to pick up a bottle of these rare and collectible whiskeys when they go on sale later this year
