Pure Antique 18 Year Bourbon Review

The Pure Antique 18 Year Bourbon is part of the Preservation Distillery’s portfolio, which includes Very Olde St. Nick, Rare Perfection, Wattie Boone & Sons, and Cowboy Little Barrel. The website for the whiskey, pureantiquedistillery.com, is no longer active, and little information is provided on the bottle. Nevertheless, the whiskey has a unique, easy-to-drink flavor profile.

Nose:

The nose is full of buttered cornbread, caramel, wet oak, leather, and cigar box.

Palate:

You may taste creamed corn, toffee, graham cracker, tobacco, caramel chews, and light seasoned oak.

Finish:

The finish has a slight spice, candy corn, brown sugar, cinnamon roll, and a lingering sugary-spice mix.

Overall:

Pure Antique 18 Year Bourbon offers a unique flavor profile that is easy to drink, but at a price point of $389 it’s hard to justify considering similarly aged and proofed bourbons can be found for much less.

I highly recommend Preservation Distillery’s Rare Perfection 14 Year or Rare Perfection 15 Year (two of my personal favorites) as an alternative. The bottle in review comes from batch H-ZJ-3.

Editor’s Note: The MSRP was updated on 3/22/2023 from $500 to $389.

  1. The Pure Antique 18 Year Bourbon may not have much information provided on the bottle or website, but it offers a unique and easy-to-drink flavor profile. However, for its high price point of $389, it may be worth considering alternative bottles from Preservation Distillery’s portfolio. Overall, I highly recommend the Rare Perfection 14 Year or 15 Year as alternatives that offer similar quality at a lower cost.

  2. The Pure Antique 18 Year Bourbon has a unique and easy-to-drink flavor profile, but at its high price point it may not be worth it. It’s worth exploring other options from Preservation Distillery such as their Rare Perfection line which offer similar flavors at a lower cost. The website for this whiskey is no longer active, but this review offers valuable insights for potential buyers.

  3. The Pure Antique 18 Year Bourbon offers a one-of-a-kind flavor profile, but the steep price of $389 may be hard to justify. Alternatively, other offerings from Preservation Distillery, such as Rare Perfection 14 or 15 Year, provide similar quality at a lower cost. Definitely worth a try for avid bourbon enthusiasts.
