Copper & Kings “Bourbon in Grape” Review

Copper & Kings is based out of Louisville, Kentucky, and has made quite the name for themselves with their brandy and non-whiskey products. The company recently released their first bourbon, “Bourbon in Grape,” finished in ex-grape brandy barrels. Let’s take a closer look.

Nose

On the nose, there’s an interesting combination of fresh cherry, raspberry, red grape, tobacco, a cinnamon stick, and a touch of leather.

Palate

The palate features dried fruit, raspberry, a savory tobacco note, allspice, fresh grape, and all flavors are rich and well integrated.

Finish

On the finish, there’s cherry pie, Concord grape jelly, a rush of spice, some dark fruit, and it’s of a medium length.

Overall

Copper & Kings finds a winning combination with their “Bourbon in Grape” release, mingling bourbon with grape brandy flavors to create a tasty and unique end result. While these are single barrels and one will vary from the next, Copper & Kings has stumbled onto a great combination here that’s worth seeking out at $65 per bottle.

Value

In terms of value, this is a good buy at $65 per bottle.
