Larceny Barrel Proof Batch C923: A Sweet and Spicy Disaapointment

Nose: Brown butter, charred oak, and dull leather aromas come across as lifeless, with only the merest hint of nougat.

Palate: Cinnamon spiced apples, baked bread, vanilla, cinnamon spice, brown sugar, and sweetness combine to make for an enjoyable and memorable sip.

Finish: Sweet cinnamon spice, leather, oak, an echo of the cinnamon spiced apples, and brown sugar lead to a short yet enjoyable finish.

Uniqueness: Larceny Barrel Proof’s Batch C923 stands out from 2023’s other releases, although unfortunately in an unexpected way.

Value: Given that this batch fails to reach the heights of Larceny Barrel Proof’s previous releases, it does not offer the same value.

Overall: Larceny Barrel Proof Batch C923’s nose offers flavourless aromas, while the palate manages to deliver enjoyable sweet and spicy flavours. The finish is short, but fulfills expectations. In the end, C923 fails to live up to the expectations of Heaven Hill’s other Larceny Barrel Proof releases, and offers sub-par value as a result

  1. . Although it has its moments on the palate, the lackluster nose and disappointment in comparison to previous releases make it a missed opportunity for Larceny Barrel Proof.
