Lost Lantern Single Distillery Series: Whiskey Del Bac “Mega Mesquite”

Lost Lantern’s Single Distillery Series has done it again with their latest release, Whiskey Del Bac “Mega Mesquite”. Despite the young age and small barrel size, Lost Lantern’s blending team have managed to create an amazing whiskey.

Nose

This whiskey has a pleasant nose with distinct aromas of fresh malted barley, smoke, mesquite chips, burnt orange rind, and a slight hint of proof.

Palate

This whiskey has a delightful palate with a brown sugar sweetness, citrus notes, cocktail cherries, and a prominent smokiness. It also has plenty of sharp peppery spice and a bold smoked wood character.

Finish

This whiskey finishes with a nice mix of smokiness and malted barley, keeping its spiciness with a crescendo. This finish has some echoing smoky tones, making it last longer than expected.

Uniqueness

This whiskey manages to standout through its intense smokiness and combination of sweet and smoky notes. The complex mixture of flavors was quite unexpected and definitely makes it unique.

Value

Given its unique flavors, and the small 180 bottle release, this whiskey is great value for money.

Overall
