Woodford Reserve Releases New Distillery Series: Wheat Whiskey Bottled In Bond
Woodford Reserve, the iconic distiller of premium Kentucky-style bourbon, has released its newest addition to the Distillery Series. The latest release is a Wheated Bourbon Whiskey bottled-in-bond at 100 proof (50% ABV).
What isBottled-in-Bond?
“Bottled-in-bond” refers to a government-regulated certification process of labeling spirits as produced in compliance with the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. The act defines what must go into the bottle to ensure that the liquor inside is of the highest quality. This includes specifications such as the whiskey must have been aged for a minimum of four years in a federally bonded and supervised warehouse, and must have been distilled at one distillery by one distiller in one season.
Woodford Reserve’s Latest Creation
Woodford Reserve’s new Wheat Whiskey Bottled-in-Bond follows similar distillery series releases such as the Rye Whiskey Bottled-in-Bond and Double Oaked Bourbon. It is the latest in the distiller’s growing portfolio of additional expressions including the popular Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select Bourbon and seasonal special releases.
This latest limited-edition offering has been made with a mash bill of mash bill of wheat, malted barley and rye. It has been aged in new, charred white oak barrels for four years and bottled at the distinct 100 proof (50% ABV). The result is a smooth, smoky whiskey with citrus and sweet corn notes that linger in the finish.

Woodford Reserve’s newest release is available in limited quantities in select states now, including Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and North Carolina with additional states to follow.
