The Beginning
It all started with a dream. More than a century ago, a man named Henry Kraver founded the Kentucky Peerless Distilling Company in Henderson, Kentucky. His aim was to produce the finest bourbon in the world, but his dream was cut short by Prohibition. The distillery closed down, and it seemed like the dream was over.
Fast forward to 2014, and Henry Kraver’s great-grandson, Corky Taylor, was inspired to pick up where his ancestor had left off. He wanted to bring back the Peerless legacy and produce the best bourbon in the world once again.
The Challenge
But it wasn’t going to be an easy task. There were already countless established bourbon brands and distilleries in Kentucky, and entering the market would mean competing with giants like Jim Beam and Maker’s Mark.
So instead of taking the path of least resistance, Peerless decided to take the path of most resistance. They decided not to follow the traditional methods of bourbon making that had been passed down for generations in Kentucky. Instead, they decided to do something different.
Innovative Process
Peerless decided to use a state-of-the-art distillery system that was completely unique. They invested in a copper pot still, a column still, and a custom-built cook system. They even decided to age their bourbon in a non-traditional warehouse that was built to their exact specifications.

In 2019, Peerless was named “Craft Producer of the Year” by Whisky Magazine, cementing their status as one of the premier bourbon producers in the world.
