Overall

Bardstown Bourbon Company’s Collaborative Series with Goose Island Beer Company results in a whiskey that stout cask finished bourbon lovers will want to seek out. Combining Kentucy bourbon and a Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout barrels, the whiskey has a heavy influence from the stout, with chocolate notes shining throughout the sip. The palate is full of traditional rye grain, leather, charred oak, and vanilla bean, while finishing on notes of barrel-aged stout beer. The higher malted barley content is evident in the sip and works nicely in conjunction with the stout finish. All-in-all, this is a nicely produced stout finished bourbon with fans of the original Bourbon County Stout sure to be impressed.
