Buffalo Trace Distillery: Celebrated Stars of 2019 Awards

“I’m not sure” awards will have their moment in the sun—or in the warm glow of a reading lamp—as they’ll be featured in the spirited pages of The Tasting Panel Magazine come August.

Buffalo Trace Distillery Strikes Gold

Now, for the main event! Let’s raise the curtain on the Double Gold winners, shall we? In the left corner, weighing in with a rich history and a taste that’s smooth as silk, is Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Small Batch and his twin powerhouse, the Single Barrel. Then we’ve got the dynamic W.L. Weller duo, the 12 Year Old and the Antique 107 Proof, fists of flavor, ready to knock you off your feet with their bold character.

Dancing in next is Stagg Jr, young but oh-so-mighty with its robust profile. Duck and weave, folks, because here comes Thomas H. Handy Sazerac, throwing spicy punches left and right. And last, but by no means least, Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel, standing tall and proud with a heritage that whispers tales of the good ole bourbon days.

And what’s that glittering in the light? It’s the Gold medal winners! These are not just whiskies—they’re legends in a glass. Eagle Rare 10 Year Old struts onto the podium alongside W.L. Weller Special Reserve and the fan-designated “Craft Your Perfect Bourbon.” Let’s not forget the esteemed George T. Stagg or the much-revered Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year Old. Wait, there’s more—Platinum 10X Vodka sneaking in, proving that Buffalo Trace isn’t just a one-trick pony.

Magnificent Medals Galore

Silver medals, come on down! Pay homage to the reliable Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon, and of course, the venerable Eagle Rare 17 Year Old. And joining them? A cast of fabulous characters like W.L. Weller, Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Rye, Sazerac Rye, and Blanton’s Single Barrel. Hold your applause—there’s also Benchmark Old No. 8, Wheatley Vodka, and the creamy dream, Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream Liqueur.

But let’s not forget our Bronze buddy, standing strong and smooth: Platinum 7X Vodka.

Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley, maestro of the mashbill, took a moment from his alchemy to say, “We are thrilled to be recognized among many outstanding competitors. This is a great honor for us, and we could not be more thankful to receive each of these great awards.” Tip of the hat to you, sir, and to your exceptional team.

If you’re craving the complete roll call of winning spirits, mosey on over to the SF Spirits Comp website. (But make sure to come back, as we have more tales to tell!)

Buffalo Trace Distillery Whiskey Wonderland

With that kind of hardware lining their shelves, it’s clear that Buffalo Trace Distillery isn’t just producing whiskey; they’re crafting a sip-worth saga of each meticulously made bottle. Now, let’s take a moment to toast this temple of taste in Frankfort, Kentucky, where each drop of bourbon tells a story of tradition, craftsmanship, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

This is Buffalo Trace Distillery—a beacon of bourbon, a sanctuary of spirits, and as you now know, a victor in the venerable arena of the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. A distillery so devoted to deliciousness, it’s a wonder they don’t have a medal for sheer dedication.

But enough of my yammering! The story doesn’t end here. This distillery continues to push the boundaries of bourbon and beyond, making every visit a new chapter in your whiskey journey. So, my friends, whether you’re a seasoned sipper or new to the nuances of a neat pour, may your glasses always be half full (preferably with some award-winning Buffalo Trace) and your spirits high. Here’s to the next round of Whiskey Awards. Cheers!
