Chuck Cowdery’s Deep Dive Into the Persistence of the New Michter’s Whiskey

The Roots of Michter’s

First established in 1753, Michter’s is a brand steeped in history, tradition and legacy. Despite its rich heritage, the brand has faced significant struggles and challenges over the years.

One of the reasons for these challenges is the fact that the original Michter’s distillery was shut down in 1989, and the brand was officially discontinued. However, the brand didn’t stay quiet for long. In 1995, Joseph J. Magliocco and Richard “Dick” Newman brought the brand back to life, reviving the Michter’s name and creating a new distillery in Kentucky.

Overcoming Obstacles

Since then, Michter’s has faced numerous obstacles, but has persisted through them all. From financial struggles to lawsuits and trademark disputes, Michter’s has truly proven itself to be a brand of determination and persistence.

The brand currently operates out of a newly renovated facility in Shively, Kentucky, where it continues to produce some of the finest American whiskey in the world. The distillery has been recognized for its exceptional offerings, earning numerous accolades and prestigious awards.

The New Michter’s

Now, the Michter’s brand is once again making waves with the release of their new core range of products. This new lineup includes four distinct offerings:

  • Michter’s US*1 Bourbon
  • Michter’s US*1 Rye
  • Michter’s US*1 American Whiskey
  • Michter’s US*1 Sour Mash

Each of these whiskies has been meticulously crafted, with a focus on quality, flavor and balance. The bourbons are aged in charred American white oak barrels, the rye is made with a mashbill of 100% rye, the American whiskey is a blend of bourbon and rye, and the sour mash is an homage to traditional Kentucky whiskey-making practices.

The Future of Michter’s

With the release of this new core range, Michter’s is continuing to build upon its reputation as a brand of excellence and persistence. As the brand continues to grow and evolve, one thing is certain – Michter’s will always be rooted in tradition and history, while also looking towards the future with innovation and excitement.

It’s this combination of old-world charm and new-world ambition that makes Michter’s such a fascinating brand to follow. Whether you’re a seasoned whiskey aficionado or a newcomer to the world of spirits, Michter’s is a name that should definitely be on your radar.
